Ayakashi no Shiro

The first of approximately half a dozen first-person RPGs ever to appear on Game Boy, Ayakashi no Shiro plays by the rules laid down by Wizardry but switches up its setting to ancient Japan.

    Whoever drew that box art does a pretty good impression of Hitoshi Yoneda, especially his Sorcerian pieces. Maybe they also worked with Falcom at some point. Then again, Japan isn’t exactly short on fantasy artists I’ve never heard of.
